Welcome to DA, going to the forums doesn't exactly work the greatest when your first starting out, I tried when i started and got nothing. Your best bet is to start mingling. Take a few minutes, look at some people stuff, and post comments, good or bad, just go with what you think on something. Do that every night, spend the first few minutes viewing other peoples stuff, and you'll be getting page views, note, and comments in no time.
